Happy 15th Birthday Google!! Whaa Whaa!! And how does Google decide they want to celebrate 15 years in the World Wide Web you ask??? They’ve deceided to update their secret receipe (that makes Google what it is) to something called “Hummingbird“.
“The changes could have a major impact on traffic to websites. Hummingbird represents the most dramatic alteration to Google’s search engine since it revised the way it indexes websites three years ago as part of a redesign called “Caffeine,” according to Amit Singhal, a senior vice-president for the company. He estimates that the redesign will affect the analysis of about 90 per cent of the search requests that Google gets.”

Basically, “Hummingbird” is going to allow Google to understand concepts rather than just words during user searches. Google understands they have to change with the times and the people that use it. It’s been found that users are now typing longer than normal questions into the search box than just a few specific words.
To celebrate its 15th birthday, today’s Google logo is an interactive piñata game. By clicking the arrow on the birthday cake in the middle of the logo, users are instructed to hit their space bar to start the game. With 10 swipes at a star-shaped piñata, players collect points based on the number of candies they can make drop while a music plays in the background.
